PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear parents,

I am deeply committed to the belief that a modern school bears a profound social responsibility: to cultivate an ideal, joyful, healthy, and thriving society. It brings me immense joy to be part of the vibrant community here at St. Xavier’s Inter College, Bakshi Ka Talab, Lucknow.

As I engage with these young, budding minds, I often reflect on whether we are sufficiently preparing them for the challenges of today's highly competitive world. The landscape of education has transformed significantly in recent years, presenting us with new and formidable challenges. It is, therefore, no small feat to shape these young individuals into the responsible leaders and citizens of tomorrow.

We understand that education must encompass the entirety of a child's being. It should not only stimulate intellectual growth, but also nurture the moral, physical, and emotional dimensions of their personality.

Regrettably, in today’s times, there is an overemphasis on intellectual development at the expense of these other vital aspects. As Steven Muller, the esteemed President of Johns Hopkins University, aptly pointed out, "Universities are turning out highly skilled barbarians because we don't provide a framework of it." It is essential to recognize that knowledge alone sharpens the mind, while education imbued with values nurtures the heart and the whole person. Indeed, an education devoid of heart-centered learning can prove to be perilous.

The lofty objective of producing responsible citizens with both keen intellects and compassionate hearts can only be achieved through a concerted effort between educational institutions and parents. It is in this spirit of collaboration that we endeavor to lay the foundation for a bright and promising future for every student here at St. Xavier’s.
